I only have 1.5 days until I go on vacation for Christmas. Man am i ready for it. I really need to get to the gym tonight to work out some frustration from work.
Breakfast was 300 calories and lunch is going to be 500 calories...have not had the time to get to it yet.
I am also going to try to get to the gym on Christmas eve morning, really early while the family is sleeping this way i can get at least two workouts in this Christmas week ...which i think is pretty good.

Christmas Week Monday:
I doubt I am going to get to the gym this week...my Son and I have some Christmas shopping to do tonight. And tomorrow will be finalizing anything that needs to be done for Christmas...I might be able to get there on Wednesday! Lets pull for that.

Workout Thursday:
I am planning to get to the gym tonight and get a good sweat in. I am being to believe that maybe my soup lunches might be starting to wear on me. I might need to find some solutions that still keep me within the 500 calorie range for my lunches.

Wednesday:
Got to the Gym last night and got a really good workout in, 30+ minutes of Cardio...I got a really good sweat going. Weighed myself and again didn't have any change. I need to be more diligent in my working out so that i get there on a more routine basis. I also think i have to watch more on the weekends...I don't go hog wild, but i know i consume more calories on the weekends then i do at any other day of the week.

Mandatory Monday:
Sometimes it feels like Mondays are mandatory...which has a negative connotation to it. Kind of like it is mandatory that you come to this meeting or that it is mandatory that you work out tonight. Blah...Any which way it might not be mandatory that i work out tonight, i really should work out. So I am hoping to get there and try my luck on the Cardio machine.

Thank goodness it is Friday, I feel like i could really use a weekend off...and that is what I plan to do this weekend...nothing...other then hang out with my beautiful wife and adorable son! I should go to the gym tonight but i don't know if I can pull myself there or not. Hopefully after work my drive to workout will be much higher then it is now.

Thursday:
So I got to the gym last night. and the news was good and bad. My weight was up to 340 but that might not mean anything with the time of night that i did the weigh in. The good was my workout. i got a really good workout in and burned over 500 calories. I am still struggling with keeping my weight loss going...it has been a couple of weeks that i have stayed around this weight and I still need to find a way to jump start my weight loss again. I think i need to watch more closely my snacking after work...i think that is my key.

Well this weekend is now over. Got back from the Pro Football Hall of Fame and two days of not eating the way I should have...the only good news in this is the fact that I was in good company while doing bad things (eating wise). Now at the gym tonight I will pay the piper and see what the damage is. Also my wife had a cookie exchange on Sunday and I now have several dozen cookies at my house staring me in the face. But i am insistent on denying them any impact on my waistline.

Finally Friday!
So I fell of the wagon a little...i gained 1 pound since my last weigh in. I know i have been snacking more lately then i have been. So consider myself re-woken up and hopping back on the wagon. I hit the gym extra hard last night and racked up over 500 calories on a cardio machine in 1/2 an hour. Now i need to watch the snacking and those dreaded Kit-Kats...curse you chocalate goodness...

Got to the gym last night and it went fairly well. Got a good lift in and some cardio. Went on the scale and was greeted with 340 which was the same as i was pre-turkey day. I will take that for a major holiday. Breakfast was normal at 275 calories and lunch will probably be a but higher since i am meeting my wife for lunch. All in all this has been a pretty good week so far.

Well Thanksgiving has come and gone and I will see what the damage is tonight at the gym. I am expecting somewhat of a hit but hopefully it is not to much of a hit. Well it is the last day before Turkey Day. I did get to the gym last night and got a really good sweat going. I weighed myself and it was up a little...around 341-342...So i am not to worried about it. My goal for thanksgiving is to only have 1 plate at our annual meal. Now i am not saying how tall the plate will be stacked but it will be a standard size plate :-) Friday I will get to the gym to work off whatever I do on Thursday!

Monday: Yes I realize I missed Friday
So I missed a day of blogging on Friday. My schedule was insanely hectic and i just did not get a change to blog. But that is the bad news. Here is the good news, I got to the gym on Friday and Saturday. When i weighed myself on Saturday i broke into a new barrier...the 30's. My weight was 339. Well it is mid-week and I am wishing it would go a little quicker! I didn't get to the gym last night...I had a church meeting that went until almost 10:00 PM. Luckily tonight i do not have a meeting so i am hoping to be able to spare an half an hour to get to the gym and get a workout in.

Yes, by the title of my post...today has been a little bit frustrating. But I am not going to focus on that. I got to the Gym on Saturday and Sunday big old :-) for me. And I weighed myself on Saturday, 340 even. Which means to date i have lost 7.4% of my total weight. Which i believe is pretty good so far.

FRIDAY IS HERE!!!
I am extremely thankful for Friday to be here...Now the bad news...i was not able to get to the gym last night...we had a bunch of errands to do and when it was all said and done...we were just winding down at 9:30...So i am hopeful to get to the gym either tonight or Saturday morning...and i might actually try to get a workout in on Sunday afternoon.

So evidently the work scale was right and i am at 344...I believe my weight is beginning to float a little bit...so i am going to up my cardio routine some and begin to do some light lifting to keep on burning some calories. I am also thinking that i need to incorporate a mid morning or afternoon snack to keep my metabolism going. I am going to experiment a little here of the next couple of weeks to see if i can get off this plateau.

Need to hit the Gym tonight:
Well, I need to hit the gym tonight...but it is more to get out some frustration more then losing weight...but the weight loss is an added bonus. Not sure if I am going to meet my buddy there or if I am running solo tonight.

Late Monday Morning:
Well I didn't get to the gym on Saturday but I did get some good cardio in. I spent about 2 1/2 hours in my back yard raking up leaves. By the time I was done i had a pile of leaves that rivaled the size our Jeep Compass. It was a pretty impressive sight. Otherwise the weekend was pretty typical for me.

Ha I know it is Friday today:
So evidently my days are pretty hectic...Since the title of my post yesterday had Wednesday in it even though it was Thursday! Man the days go so fast sometimes it seems like it is a blur. Got to the gym last night and worked up a pretty good sweat! Now all i need to do is get there on Saturday and that will complete my 3 day circuit for this week. The scale was good to me also. I went down two pounds from Tuesday...but that doesn't mean much since I was up 3 pounds from Saturday. I am thinking that my weight is beginning to float a little bit. Where does the day go?
Man it seems that days fly by without me even knowing it. Right now it is 12:05 and I am not sure how it got to be this late in the day already. Got to the gym last night and got a good run in. Went over 2 miles and burned 450 calories. Now I need to fit another time in either today or tomorrow. I need to be more strict on my workouts. I have been only averaging 2 workouts a week and I need to get back into the habit of 3.

Very Good Weekend:
Well guys, i had a pretty good weekend! I did get to the gym on Saturday and I was very pleased when i stepped on the Scale, 342 is what I saw. Which means as of right now I am at a total weight loss of 25 pounds...which feels really good to say. I am going to keep sticking to my plan and i am going to see where it takes me. I would really love to have the same success over the next two months...

Thankful Its Friday:
Didn't get to the gym last night...but I have a good excuse...Trick or Treat. We traveled around to show our son off in his Dragon costume. So I am going to make it up tonight. Weighed myself today at work. But i find it hard to estimate what my Clothes weigh...i believe what i have on right now is 4 pounds...Shoes and jeans...going with that assumption i am at 345. But we will see tonight when i get to the gym in my traditional garb.

Typical Wednesday:
Today seems to be a more typical day...I did get to the gym last night and my weight was unchanged from last Friday. I am not alarmed since this is normal and I usually see a change between Monday and Friday...when i am more strict with my Breakfasts and Lunches. FYI weight was 346. My workout last night was good...did 30 minutes of Cardio burning 450 calories or so the machine says. Then i did some benching, it felt good to still be able to slap on some 45's and pound some reps out. But I can tell I am weaker then I have been in the past. But that is OK, my plan is to lose the fat first and then work on building the muscle back.

I plan on getting a workout in tonight after our early evening activities are complete...Probably won't get to the gym until after 8:00 PM. Got a little care package yesterday on our mailbox...and I had some of the package this morning. I hadn't had some chocalate chip cookies in a while and this morning I had 3. The rest I am leaving for my wife. So now i have more calories in the morning...guess that will be a couple more minutes on the elliptical tonight.

Good Sunday:
Here is an unusual post on a sunday. I got to the Gym Friday afternoon and i stepped on the scale. Fortunately i liked what i saw. 348, which means i was down another pound. Then i decided to try something new. I took off my shoes and weighed myself again...I was expecting a pound less, but what i saw was 2 pounds less. Which means i am at 346! This means i have crossed a new barrier, the twenty pound mark. Just a short 2 months ago i weighed 367 and now i weigh 346. I am hoping that by Christmas that i will be 326...I definitely love progress...and evidently i can subtract 2 pounds for the weight of my shoes!

Another Wednesday:
Got to the gym last night and was fairly impressed with how I and Jim did on the step machine, did a 20 minute routine on the stepper and then decided to do another 15 minutes on the Elliptical machine. After that we caught a 10 minute sauna...In which we had a discussion that is as follows:
Me - "When we get in the sauna we should talk Russian"
Jim - "Why? Saunas are from Finland!"
Me - "Well by our current body weight we could more easily pass as Russians then the Finnish!"
Jim - "All we need is the Palm leaves to hit ourselves with"

Working Tuesday:
Normal Tuesday filled with work and other stuff. I decided to step on the scale here at work just to see what it says. I was a little alarmed to see that it said 353. But then i realized that i had work clothes on and not my normal gym clothes. So i can bet that my jeans / polo shirt and Hiking boots make up about 3 - 4 pounds which places me back at 349. I will see if this is true when i hit the gym later tonight.

Pretty Good Monday:
I had a pretty good weekend, sure the weather was bad (rain and cold). My time off was relaxing. I did manage to get myself to the gym on Saturday morning and when i stepped on the scale i was greeted with a new second digit in my weight a 4 (349)...that's right, i have moved out of the 50's and into the 40's now. And in light of this new development i am going to do a retrospective of what i have been able to accomplish over the last two(almost) months.

You learn something everyday:
So I know that Mcdonalds is bad for you. I know that stuff has Trans fat and everything else that is bad for you. But i was in a bind this morning and running late. So I stopped by our local McDonald's and picked up 2 Sausage McMuffins with Eggs I figured they couldn't be that bad for you. Holy Cow I was wrong. Each sandwich was 450 calories, i had 2 so that equals 900 calories in the morning...stink. Guess I'll need to get to the gym tonight to work some of that off. Mental note to self...don't go to Mcdonalds.

Not so Hectic Thursday:
Today is not as hectic as yesterday...I actually ate my lunch today :-), I didn't get to the gym last night, so i am hoping to get there tonight and get some cardio in. Breakfast was a little on the light side today, 200 calories and lunch was 350, but i added a mid-morning snack today of 200 calories but i am still under my daily calories even with dinner tonight.

Today was just a little bit hectic at work. Hectic enough that I did not have enough time to eat lunch. Hopefully tonight i will find a little bit of time to get to the gym. I know that I need to take the Dog to the vet to get a shot and I am not really looking forward to that.

Tuesday stinks...after a 4 day weekend:
Well today officially stinks, I took both Friday and Monday off from work to spend some time with my family and to have our first annual Columbus (Comfy) Day Holiday. Which basically means we sit around at the house in our BJ's all day. But just because it was comfy day doesn't mean that I didn't get to the gym.
Last week I did not get to the gym as much as i would have liked, in fact I only went one day. So naturally i was apprehensive when I got on the scale yesterday. But much to my surprise I found out then i was again in the negative...down to 351 pounds. And if i take the shoe theory into my calculations It is really 350 pounds. But for now i am considering it 351. Since I went to the gym last night i am not scheduled to go until tomorrow night but maybe I will find some time to go tonight just to do some cardio. We'll see...
Breakfast was slightly larger today, 350 Calories. Lunch was pretty normal at 500 calories. I believe we might be having either spaghetti or pizza burgers for dinner tonight.

Technical Thursday:
Today I declare Technical Thursday...anything that could go wrong with technology has seemed to go wrong...it is almost like someone dropped am EMP bomb on my office. And instead of just knocking out everything that runs on electricity...it caused on computer based things to act randomly. I will be glad when today is over!

Windy Wednesday:
Today's blog is a little later then usual. I was extremely busy at work today and I did not have time to blog about my routine. Tonight i plan on getting to the gym, most likely it will be later tonight after my son goes to bed. I am hoping to see continuing positive results. I am hoping to be in the 40's after this weekend if possible.
Breakfast was 250 calories today and lunch was 500 calories...dinner is chicken cordon blue soup...and i am quite positive that will be under the 2100 calories that i have left for the day.

Normal Tuesday:
I did get to the gym last night...missed heroes in the process, but that is why Hulu was invented ;-) Stepped on the scale and was greeted with a -1, 352 (and that is with my shoes on, i hear they weight at least 1 pound) and still losing weight! That places the Wii Fit Magic number to 13. I am hoping that i can reach this before thanksgiving. which would put me about 1.5 pounds per week. Which I currently have been doing so it seems realistic to me. So far i have been doing this routine for 6 weeks and I have lost 15 pounds...so that is 2.33 pounds per week or 4 percent of my total body weight...So if my goal is 1.5, I believe i can make that.
I haven't been posting what I eat, but only how many calories. Here is my basic food list for a day.
Breakfast - Cereal, usually Some sort of Korn Flakes or something like Lucky Charms. Nothing crazy, but only one serving of it. Around 230 - 300 Calories.
Lunch - Soup, Campbell Chunky single serving variety...not sure why the label says each bowl is two servings but alas they around 200 - 300 calories. 12 - 15 White Corn chips...120 calories. Grapes...150 calories.
So Breakfast and lunch = between 700 and 900 calories on average. The daily nutritional servings in calories for a 320 pound guy is 2700 for a guy wanting to lose weight. Which means on average i have between 2000 and 1800 calories left over for dinner...which if it was at McDonalds (which it never is) I could have a Big Mac, Large Fri and a Chocolate Shake and still have 200 calories to go.

Workout Monday:
This weekend did not go as planned for me. I caught a touch of a cold on Saturday and because of that i did not get to the gym as planned. But the good thing is i kept on my eating regiment and i hope to not have suffered any ill effects of not getting to the gym.
But today I am feeling much better and I am going to get to the gym and get some good cardio in. I really am not sure what my weight is at so look for an update tomorrow!

Friday: Is good, Thursday night is bad...
Friday is good...Thursday night is bad, i didn't get to the gym as planned. Tonight I am going to get there. It might be later then i anticipated. But I need to hit the Cardio Machine hard. -_-

Workout Thursday and one step closer to Wii Fit:
Well today is workout Thursday...My plan for tonight is to do 30 minutes of cardio and then to do a more traditional workout involving my upper body...chest/triceps/biceps. So far my workouts have been going pretty good and i am coming to enjoy working out on the cardio machines.
Breakfast was 250 calories and lunch is 610 calories. I have been pretty happy with my ability to not snack between meals and after dinner. The tempation is always there but i have been doing a good job so far.
I haven't said this before on my blog but this is my goal number 1: to be able to play Wii Fit. It isn't that i can't because of my athletic ability (i consider myself to be pretty athletic)...it is solely because of my weight. Wii Fit has a weight limit of 330 pounds. And as of today i am only 13 pounds away from being able to play Wii Fit!

Hump Day:
Working through hump day and I am trying to decide if i want to hit the gym again tonight. After my very positive session last night I feel that I should keep it up. I find myself using the last notch of my belt today...and that i can't get it any tighter...so i have to make a decision...buy a smaller[:-) belt or jerry rig my current belt so it fits properly...-_- I really don't want to spend any extra money on a dumb belt.

Rare Double Post:
I am writing a rare double post. The reason i am writing this is because I had two things go well today. 1) i weighed in at (-1.5) so I am at 352.5. I did a half pound so I could say 52 instead of 53. 2) i was able to go 45 minutes on the Cardio Machine, doing 1 min at 120 spm (steps per minute) and then 1 min at 180 spm...which netted me +500 calories of work. Not sure if spm is a real acronym or not. but anyway tonight was good!!!down 14.5 pounds so far.

A Good Weekend:
I took this weekend off from going to the gym...and just relaxed at my house. I kind of assumed the worse when i went to weigh myself this morning...but luckily for me i was greeted with a surprise. I was (-1) on the scale from last Tuesday! This means i am only 5 pounds from breaking the 350 mark and entering the 340's. (so right now i am at 354, 5 pounds to get to 349) Now it is back to the gym...tonight i plan on hitting the cardio machine hard and seeing if i can keep this pace up.

Ok, ok, ok...you got me, i did not go to the gym last night.Went out with the family and did not get home until after 9:00 PM...but i am optimistic that i am going to get go tonight after my wife gets home from her second job...or third since being a mom is her first and a teacher her second? Anyway the job i mention is for tastefully simple and she is a consultant. Want to book a party? let me know...
But there is good news! I weighed myself today and the scale was at (-2) (355 for those of you keeping score at home) So my diet plan is working so far (-12) in total...but i need to get to the gym today and tomorrow.

Workout Thursday:
Gonna get to the gym tonight to get a good sweat in. I will be interested to see if i have dropped any weight since Tuesday. I really have been watching what I eat...but who doesn't (the alternative is food all over our faces instead of in our mouths) Breakfast was a little bit larger at 350 calories and lunch is about the same as usual, 600, so i still have around 1850 calories for dinner tonight. I am really trying to keep my calories under 2800 and so far i believe i have been doing good!

Super Wednesday:
Alright, so i evidently gorged myself this weekend. Ate way to much food for my own good. When i stepped on the scale last night i could not believe what i saw. I guess this is one of those valleys that everyone must tread through. The scale said 357.5, which means i am up 1/2 a pound from Saturday...HA I bet i had you all going.
I know my weight will fluxuate some depending on time of day / gravitional pull of the moon / etc...so i am not sweating it...but i did sweat a lot last night.
I was able to do 2/3 of the supersets in my bellyoff workout + 20 minutes of cardio doing 1 min at 55% and then 1 min at 85% with the last min being at 100%...
Breakfast was around 300 calories, Lunch is around 600 calories so i can still have a dinner of around 1900 calories, which is 2 Quarter Pounder(s) with Cheese and a large Fry...to place it in perspective...and no i am not going to do that.

Tuesday Afternoon:
My Post is coming a little bit later in the afternoon today. I have been a little bit busy at work. I did not get to the gym last night, I figured that one more night of rest for my knee might be good. (and there was some good TV on last night) But i do not have any reason to not go in tonight. So my plan is to get to the gym tonight and get a workout in.
Meals are also going well...breakfast and lunches are still good...and i am keeping dinners reasonable. So hopefully this diet thing keeps on working.

Feeling better on a Monday:
Monday is at least looking brighter then i thought it would on Saturday...When i hurt my knee i immediately thought about what this would do to my weight loss goals and plans. Then last night i was able to shot around (basketball) with the family and do some light jogging (after one of my many misses, :-P) It was nothing streneous...but it showed me that maybe i didn't hurt it as bad as i thought. Tonight i am going to get to the gym and give my knee a real try out...my hopes are to be able to do at least cardio, i will sacrifice the belly off program just to be safe for tonight.
I also am going to try something my brother-in-law told me about...changing my tempo during cardio...45-55% for one min then 80-85% for a min, alternating for about 30 minutes. We'll see how that goes.

Saturday:
Here is a very rare saturday post. I got to the gym this morning and everything went great! the Scale was (-2) and i got a good workout in with some cardio.
Then I decided to cleanout my wife's car. It all went well until i decided to twist my knee in a way other then God designed...Not sure why i did it but it happened.
I officially now know that i am closer to being a middle aged guy then i am to being a college football player. At least it is how i feel right now. And that is not easy for me to admit.
So now i have to deal with an injury...i am still determined to get to the gym and get work in...luckily i have a couple of days until i get back to the gym.

Glorious Friday:
Yes friends it is Friday. It looks like we are going to take our son to his first football game! It is my wife's school homecoming game and we are going to try to go to it for a bit...If we go to the game i might not be able to go to the gym, if that happens then i will go on Saturday morning before the family gets up for the day.
I am switching up my lunches and breakfasts to keep my body guessing...had two fruit bars for breakfast 220 calories and Lean Cuisine and fruit snacks for lunch 510 calories. I am really trying to do what is right..I will continue to do it this weekend. Hopefully my next post is about a successful weekend.

Decent Thursday:
Got to the Gym late last night...and I believe I was rewarded for it, got a very good workout in, I was able to almost do the complete belly-off program (but i fell a little short about 75% complete and 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical machine. When I stepped on the scale I definitely liked what I saw -2...so this means i am officially out of the 60's and now in the 50's. And this time i do not have a weeding to go to this weekend so i am not going to blow it! Hopefully in the next couple of weeks i can say goodbye to the 50's and hello to the 40's...but time will only tell.

Workout Wednesday:
Well today is workout Wednesday, another day of the insane belly-off workout routine. I am hoping that when i am done with the workout one of the good elipticals is free...i like them so much better then either the treadmill or the bikes. Tonight is also another weigh-in...i am hoping that at least 1 pound is gone. On a side note I watched the biggest loser last night. That show is just plain wrong, you see very big people lose massive amounts of weight in 1 week. That is just not normal. It is not very hard to image why these people cannot keep the weight off. They just do not make the life changes that are needed to maintain their new weight. On the show everything is cooked for them and all they do is work out. That is not true in the real world. To keep weight off you need a life change that drives your weight change.

Working Out and Eating Right:
A buddy of mine got me on a workout routine that does not involve weights at all. It only involves your own body mass and cardio. I have done it twice now and man is it a workout. The scale last night was a +0 so i did not gain anything over the weekend so i consider that a win. My next scheduled workout is Wednesday night but maybe I will have time to get to the gym tonight. I am really trying to keep on this diet...2800 calories or less...breakfast was 250 calories and lunch was 450 calories. If i keep dinner reasonable then i will be under 2800.

Found some more information that i needed to post...for my body weight (360) as of last week...i should eat 3600 calories per day. To lose weight i need to cut out 700 calories. Which means i need to drop to 2900...There is also a technique to zig/zag your calories so that no two days are the same...this way you are able to trick your body to not hit a plateau...interesting stuff

Monday is here...and I already miss the weekend. I am still trying to find out what caloric intake ration should be my breakfast lunch and dinner. I know that i can't just try to do under 2,000 calories in a given day or else my body will think it is starving and my metabolism will shut off. And I do not want that. So i am trying to keep my meals reasonable, lunch today was 550 calories and breakfast was about 300. But i still need to find out what I am supposed to be at for the long term. Do i need to insert some snacks to keep my body burning energy?

Friday is here and hopefully it is going to be a good day...I am back on the Train to losing weight and i am make a conscientious effort in making good choices for my meals. And trying to limit snacks at all times. I am looking forward to this weekend as some time to be at home with the family. I am recently on this kick of the campbell soups that come in a cup that you can heat up and drink...seems like a good lunch option for the fall / winter...and only 150 calories per serving (1 cup) that plus a 100 calorie pack of popcorn and 200 calorie pack of fruit snacks means my lunch is 450 calories? My main question is that good or not? How large should a lunch be?

Back on the Train:
Ok, so going out to Ohio and having a labor day picnic was not the best for my wasteline...the scale at the gym was not very good...in fact it was +3 which is not very good at all. But the news is not all bad. I did get to the gym last night and i had a very good cardio and sauna session...i am curious to see what the scale is going to say tonight...hopefully it is under 0 and not over it. Right now i am still -2 overall so i will take some positive out of this whole debacle. I am going to use this as my wake up call...it tells me I need to watch what i eat and get to the gym on a regular basis, or not very good things will happen (to my weight)...

Draft but no Gym
Well the Draft is over and my final team seems to be pretty good...But the bad news is that it did not get over until well after 9:00 PM after cleanup and all. So i did not get to the gym like planned...but tonight is a different night and i plan on getting to the gym to get a weigh in and to get some good cardio in. The Wedding is Over:
The Wedding is over and my sister is on their extended honeymoon...1 Week in TN...I hope they have a great time! Anyway this weekend was probably not the best for my "Diet" and i am not looking forward to getting on the scale tonight at the Gym...the only good thing about this is this is the last trip we should be taking for awhile so i will have several months of being at home in our daily routine. Preview to this weekend:
I have a very interesting weekend in store for me...My sister is getting married on Saturday so our family is heading out to Ohio for the wedding...we are leaving tomorrow morning so we can be there in tame for the rehearsal. The interesting part is the meals portion on the trip... spaghetti warehouse on Friday, Wedding reception on Saturday, and Rachel's Roadhouse on Sunday! Plus a Labor day picnic on Monday...Boy it is going to take some discipline to keep my meal portions respectable this weekend...maybe the hotel will have some semblance of a gym so i can get a little workout in? i doubt it but i can hope. Thus to say i will report on how it goes for me on Tuesday!

Good but Bad at the same time:
Last night was good but bad at the same time. I got to the Gym around 8:20, which is the good...the scale was +1 which is the bad. So the weekend did not go as well as i would had anticipated. I know we need to go to the grocery store sometime soon, hopefully we will get some food that is a little better for what i am trying to do.
Hopefully I can get some Oatmeal and OJ for breakfast...some salad mix and oil and vinegar dressing for lunches. and maybe something very healthy to snack on when i get a craving after work or in the evening.
I figured this journey wasn't going to be easy fill with constant victory after victory. I know i will lose some battles along the way, but i am determined to win the war.

Last Night: Good and Bad
Last night i was both good and bad...i was good because i decided to help my wife...i was bad because i did not get to the gym. Let me explain: I tried to help my wife last night by picking up things around the house...shoes, toys, clothes. So i went around the house looking for stuff i could do...clean the kitchen, take stuff up to the attic...etc. When i starting doing my little cleaning task i soon realized that several hours had passed and i did not have time to get to the gym. Now don't think i did everything, because i didn't. I didn't do laundry and things like that...i find that i need my wife for that. I am the kind of guy that throws everything into the wash and dryer together, and that irritates my wife and shrinks my clothes.
So hopefully tonight is a little more settled and i am able to get to the gym and do a weigh in. I am wondering what i am at right now.

Well, the first weekend is over...i was not as good as i would have wanted to be...did go out to eat twice...Friday night and Saturday night but i didn't snack and i ate sensibly all weekend. I also was able to get to the Gym on Saturday and did some good cardio. I plan on going to the Gym tonight after work so i will see if my above thinking was right or not.
Didn't have a chance to eat any breakfast this morning (need to get some oatmeal at the store!) and i am having White Rice and Chicken bites for lunch with a couple animal cookies (i think that is what they are called?) Dinner should be interesting tonight since the wife has a tastefully simple meeting to go to. Guess we'll see what happens.

Friday is finally here!
Now that we have our little guy, our nights can get very busy. So i think it is reasonable that missed at an appointment with the Gym...A good friend of mine who was meeting me at the gym...figured otherwise...So i got myself to the gym as soon as we were able to get our little guy down. and Man do i feel good that i did. It also doesn't hurt that the scale was a -2 down to 358. So that is something to be happy about.
So now comes the weekend my first test to not ruin the progress i made this week. Let's hope i do it. I don't plan on blogging on the weekends so my next update will be Monday.

Typical Thursday:
Day 4 of this new diet approach and i am still going strong...Watching what i eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner and not snacking. I am hoping that i keep seeing the results of this on the scale. I need to get back to the Gym and work up a sweat again...I find that it is a great way to release any frustrations i am carrying with me. I am wondering if i should change up my lunch again next week, just to keep everything fresh.
Did some quick math...if i continue to lose 5 pounds a week for the next 52 weeks i would weigh 100 lbs? Don't worry i know that is not going to happen...but it is a funny way to look at it. I'll be very happy when the first number of my weight is not >= 3. (here is a if then statement for that)
[If derek.weight >= '300' then derek.mood = "Sad" else derek.mood = "Happy"]
I am not really sad about my weight right now but i will be happy then i hit the else part of the formula above.

At least Tuesday night was good:
Well I did get to the Gym on Tuesday night. And i was a bit apprehensive when I stepped on the scale. The number that i saw actually shocked me a little...360! So evidently i lost 5 pounds over the last week. This is at least a good start. Hopefully i can keep it rolling over the next several weeks and I can build up some momentum with some more positive results.
Keys to Victory:
Elliptical Machine - It is a very low impact machine that builds up quite a bit of sweat. After 30 minutes on it I am drenched.
Snacking - No snacking after work (before dinner) or after dinner before bed.
Reasonable Serving sizes - I don't plan on cutting out breads or snack food (carbs etc...) But i do plan on making sure i am reasonable in how much i eat!

Tuesday
Tuesday is being Tuesday...
Let me explain my theory to you. Tuesday is the worst day of the week and here is why. Monday gets all the notoriety for being a horrible day. Wednesday is hump day and means you are only 1/2 the way through your week. Thursday is almost Friday so it is semi-good...and Friday is the best day of the work week. This leaves us Tuesday. No one thinks about Tuesday...it kind of sneaks up on you. But the thing about Tuesday is that it is evil! Tuesday thinks Monday is a wimp. Tuesday is jealous of Friday. Tuesday thinks Wednesday complains to much. Tuesday dislike Thursday because of it's location near Friday. This has made Tuesday evil...and is why you should be scared of Tuesday...i know i am.
Now to the point of this blog...had a bowl of cereal for breakfast, 1 serving of cheese curls (about 26 curls) a ham salad sandwich and some cranberries for lunch...not sure what is for dinner will find out later today...I am going to try to hit the gym this evening do a little work on the elliptical machine...try to sweat off about 400 - 500 calories.

Day 1: An Average Monday
Today was not to bad...bowl of cereal in the morning (Fruit Loops). Ham Salad sandwich, small portion of cheese puffs and some dried cranberries for lunch. Cheeseburger soup and Cherry-Doctor Pepper Bread (My Wife sells Tastefully Simple, so the bread is supposed to be with beer but we substitute Soda) for Dinner...Most importantly i didn't snack after work, which is saying something for me.
Did not get to the Gym...I am having a difficult time finding time to get there consistently... I know it is only 45 min to an hour so i need to pick a time and make it part of my habit...

Chapter 1: Change of Habits
I have often heard that it takes 30 days to changes ones habits...and once you change your habits they will stay changed forever...Not sure if this is true or not, but we will find out.
I normally don't do things like this...I have never been one to blog or express myself online very much...but this is something that I have felt myself drawn to do. If you are reading this and if you decide to continue to follow this blog hopefully you will witness a change in a person that few go through. My plan is to get myself under 300 lbs within the next year...so i have to lose 65 lbs in 365 days or 1.24 lbs every 7 days. My long-term goal is 265...but i am not thinking of that quite yet.
What is my reason for doing this? Frankly it is my Son...My wife and I had a baby boy 7 months ago and I want to lose the weight for him. I realize that i am not getting any younger and that my years of eating what I want and not paying for it are over...actually my brain about 7 years late to the party that my body has been at since 2002.
So what you are reading here is blog post # 1. I am going to try to blog at least once per day most likely during my lunch (half) hour at work...So let's see if i can make some change in my body and ultimately my life.
